Founder: TS CANDII
Originally from Tennessee, Candii, 26 realized very quickly that being black while trans especially in the South, brings forth challenges and experiences that very few could match. While navigating the shelter system in Brooklyn, Candii identified the needs of fellow black trans-women, then set herself on a mission to provide them with quality of life resources. To date, Black Trans Nation has distributed over $500k to Black Trans Sex Workers and underfunded overlook black organization in the attempt to provide essential financial relief through a global pandemic. Candii lives in Brooklyn with 4 fur babies.
Black Trans Nation is for black trans by a black trans-non-profit organization established in Brooklyn, NY, during the COVID 19 crisis. We assist Black and POC TGNC individuals with empowerment tools urgently needed to ensure a productive life and style while navigating a safe and healthy transition. We provide direct-relief via referrals to trans friendly service providers in Kings County, NY. We also offer financial assistance, short term and long term housing to homeless TGNC youth & black trans sex workers who face financial hardships due to the societal stigma associated with being trans while black.
We work to ensure the community and local leaders have the knowledge, resources and opportunities to make a real change in society. We see our campaigns as collective efforts and tools for connecting and building a stronger Activist Movement.

Ensuring that All Voices are Heard
Advocacy is an essential pillar of our Activist Movement. There is strength in numbers, and we work to inform and encourage others to take a stand for what they believe in.
Thank you to advocates & elected allies who have helped to make this happen!
